About the Program

Program Overview
The Cybersecurity pathway at Garden City Community College prepares students for the fast-growing field of protecting digital systems, networks, and data. Students build a strong foundation in computer security within the Computer Science program while developing the skills needed for real-world cybersecurity roles.

Hands-On Security Training
Students gain practical, hands-on experience in dedicated labs where they learn to protect digital systems and networks. Training includes threat analysis, risk management, and security policies, along with how to troubleshoot systems and write secure code.

Industry Certifications
The program prepares students for industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, and Ethical Hacking, helping them build credentials that are valued by employers.

Credentials

Associate in Science - 60 credit hours

CYSE.AS - With an emphasis on computer, software, and network security, the Cybersecurity degree gives students the skills to protect computer systems from today's modern cyber threats. Students also have the option of obtaining several industry-recognized certifications from CompTIA including A+, Network+, Tech+, Security+, Data+, and Project+.
