GCCC Scholarships
Students can take advantage of over 300 institutional, academic, & activity scholarship available each year! Complete one application to be considered for all academic scholarships. Scholarship funding is limited and never guaranteed, so apply early for the best opportunity.
The Scholarship Application is open October 1 – June 30 each year.
How to Apply for Scholarships
- Log in to myGCCC using your student username and password.
- Open the AwardSpring tile to access the scholarship application.
- Complete your application.

Academic Scholarships
Your hard work in the classroom can pay off—literally. Our scholarship program rewards you for strong academic performance, making college more affordable as your GPA increases.
- Students with a 2.0–2.4 GPA can earn $250
- A 2.5–2.9 GPA increases your award to $500
- Reach a 3.0–3.4 GPA and you’ll receive $750
- Achieve a 3.5–4.0 GPA to maximize your scholarship at $1,000
Scholarship Distribution Policies
Scholarships are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis and are available for fall and spring semesters only. Grade point averages or GED scores*, financial need, and majors are taken into consideration. Scholarship criteria vary, so students are matched as closely as possible with the scholarship standards. Activity scholarships are awarded by respective departments. A student athlete may receive additional scholarships as long as it doesn't exceed the maximum amount as defined by NJCAA if such are awarded either on the basis of need, as verified by the colleges office of financial aid or outstanding academic achievement, with criteria including maintaining a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Activity scholarships are awarded by respective departments.
* Any scholarship that has a grade point average as part of the eligibility, the GED score will convert to the following grade point average.

Kansas Promise Scholarship
The Kansas Promise Scholarship give you the opportunity to earn a degree or certificate at little to no cost.
The Kansas Promise is a “last-dollar” scholarship that covers tuition, fees, books, and other program-related expenses not already paid by other scholarships or grants. It’s available to eligible Kansas students enrolled in high-demand programs. In return, recipients agree to live and work in Kansas for two years after completing their program.

Activity Scholarship (Grant-In-Aid) Agreement
By accepting this agreement, the student acknowledges the offer of a Garden
City Community College Activity Scholarship (Grant-In-Aid) for the 2026-2027
Academic year. The Student understands and agrees that these funds are to be
used for educational related expenses at GCCC.
By accepting the award shown, the Student agrees to abide by the following
requirements:
- Attend all classes enrolled at all times barring verifiable hardships.
- Maintain a full-time enrollment status during each semester awarded.
- Complete all activity requirements set forth by activity sponsor.
- Comply with the rules and regulations of the college and cooperate fully with its officials, including instructors.
- Withdrawal or dismissal from GCCC (whether voluntary or administratively) may require full repayment of the scholarship(s) received. Subject to sponsor/coach discretion.
- Any combination of Garden City Community College Grant-In-Aid(s), and other grants, loans and scholarships will not exceed the federal cost of attendance.
- “B.2. Non-Athletic Scholarships and Grants-in Aid: Institutional aid may be awarded to any student-athlete reported on an NJCAA Eligibility roster under the following guidelines and not be a counter under NJCAA Sports Procedures Chart.

- B.2.a. Aid must be available to the entire student population, AND
- B.2.b. Aid must not be awarded based on athletic capabilities, performance, or participation, AND
- B.2.c. Aid must be officially recorded in and administered by the college’s office of financial aid and business, AND
- B.2.d. Aid must be awarded either on the basis of need, as verified by the college’s office of financial aid OR for outstanding academic achievement, published in the college catalog, office of financial aid, and/or foundation scholarship materials.”
failure to enroll will render this agreement null and void. I also understand that if I do not fully comply with the listed conditions, this award may be withdrawn, and I am
responsible for the repayment of the value of this award.
Many area organizations provide one to four-year scholarships, grants and loans to students who fulfill their specific qualifications.
Area organizations of which you may want to inquire would be churches, high schools, PTA groups, service clubs, fraternal organizations, professional organizations, and the company or business where parents are employed .
Some corporations may also sponser National Merit Scholarships.
Your high school counselor usually has a detailed list of such programs.
The State of Kansas Scholarship Programs are administered by the Student Assistance Section of the Board of Regents.
