Program Overview
The Communication program prepares students to become confident, creative, and ethical
communicators in today’s information-driven world. Students develop strong written,
oral, and interpersonal communication skills while exploring media, culture, and real-world
communication strategies that transfer smoothly to four-year universities and careers.
Hands-On Media Experience
A key feature of the program is GC3 Student Media, where students gain real-world
experience producing magazines, podcasts, radio, and news content. This student-run
platform allows students to build professional portfolios through writing, interviewing,
editing, and multimedia storytelling while collaborating with campus partners.
Speech and Debate Opportunities
Students also benefit from participation in Speech and Debate, where they strengthen
public speaking, leadership, and critical thinking skills through competition and
performance-based learning.
Career-Ready Communication Skills
Together, these experiences provide a dynamic, hands-on foundation that prepares students
to lead, communicate effectively, and succeed in a wide range of academic and professional
pathways.
